A Global Standard for a Market-by-Market Region

The United States and Canada classify e-bikes and e-scooters through a patchwork of federal, state and provincial rules. Phantom’s starting point is the same everywhere: a single, independently tested safety standard.

Regulatory Landscape

Federal rules, state-by-state classification.

E-bikes and e-scooters in the US and Canada are shaped by a mix of federal consumer product safety rules, state and provincial vehicle classification laws, and voluntary industry safety standards for lithium-ion battery systems. Because classification and battery expectations vary by state and province, Phantom builds every product to its CE-marked, TÜV-tested European baseline first, then works with each distributor to confirm the local classification and any additional requirements for their specific market.

How Phantom Meets the Standard

One engineering baseline, applied everywhere.

Rather than building a different safety standard for every market, Phantom engineers every product to the same benchmark and applies it globally — including in North America.

01

Independent Safety Testing

Every model is tested to European EN standards — EN 15194 for e-bikes, EN 17128 for e-scooters and personal light electric vehicles — with safety testing certified by TÜV before it reaches production.

02

Battery & Transport Compliance

Every battery pack is tested and documented to UN 38.3 for safe international transport, on every shipment to every market we serve.

03

One Global Baseline

Every Phantom product carries the same CE marking and TÜV-tested safety validation, no matter which region it ships to — including North America.

We're looking for authorized distributors who care about safety and quality as much as we do.
